After that, you would lay a layer of gravel or crushed stone to further stabilize the subsoil. Finally, you can pour the concrete over the prepared subsoil and level it out to create a solid foundation. **

Topsoil is the uppermost layer of soil, typically the top 2-8 inches, that is rich in organic matter and nutrients, making it ideal for plant growth. Subsoil, on the other hand, is the layer of soil beneath the topsoil that is less fertile and contains fewer organic materials. Subsoil is usually harder and more compact than topsoil, and it lacks the nutrients necessary for supporting plant life. **

A load-bearing subsoil refers to the underlying layer of soil that is capable of supporting the weight of a structure or construction. This type of subsoil is able to withstand the pressure and load exerted by the building above it without significant settlement or movement. Load-bearing subsoils are essential for the stability and longevity of any structure, as they provide a solid foundation for the building to rest upon. It is important to assess and properly prepare the load-bearing subsoil before construction to ensure the safety and integrity of the building. **
